Welcome Back!!!

WOW!!! It has really been an interesting few weeks hasn't it? Who could have predicted in February that everything we knew would come to a screeching halt in just a month. Our county and town have been just inundated. March 3rd an EF-4 tornado came through the western part of the county ending its track just a mile from West View down HWY 70 and passing over a few members homes. We lost friends and family in that horrible night but amazingly it only made us stronger. Putnam COunty and Tennessee showed what it was to live in the Volunteer State. I can't think of anyone who was not in some way involved with the recovery efforts.

Just when things were beginning to look a little more normal COVID-19 reared its ugly head in the UNited States bringing our society and economy to a halt. But once again we persevered. The work of volunteers here at the church saw a massive reorganization and expansion of our Food Pantry Ministry. Hours were extended, shelves and storage were built, donations were collected, clothing was sorted and prepared. And the work continues today. Our ladies meet the needs of the local community every week on Mondays from noon to three and several families share duties ministering on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 8.

We are poised to resume our monthly Community Meals possibly beginning in June and are working hard to still have VBS this summer. with summer comes times of cookouts and fellowship on the playground and we pray that the recent issues do not continue to hinder those amazing times.

I love you all and look so forward to seeing each and every one of you as the restrictions continue to relax and you feel safe to return to corporate worship and Church life. As alwaysthere are needs that we can meet please get in touch with you family's Deacon or myself and we will do all that we can.

In Christ,
Jimmie Simpson
Senior Pastor
